TalantaHR collects data from you — through our interactions with you and through the solutions we offer — for the purposes set out below, including to operate effectively and to give you the best experience with our software. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

How we collect your data
You provide this data directly, such as when you:
- Register to try out our solutions.
- Share user details for solution configuration and sizing.
- Share log files with us for troubleshooting.
You always have choices about the technology you use and the data you share. When you are asked to provide personal data beyond what you deem necessary, you can request clarification — and, if you are not satisfied, you can choose to decline.
The data we collect
The data we collect can include the following:
Your first and last name, email address, postal address, phone number, and other similar contact data for you and your users.
Information about your subscriptions, licenses and other entitlements.
Data about your device and its identifiers, and the products and features you use — including information about your hardware and software and how our solutions perform.
Data about the performance of the products and any problems you experience, including error reports. Error reports (sometimes called "crash dumps") can include details of the software or hardware related to an error, the contents of files open when the error occurred, and data about other software on your device.
How we use your data
We use the data we collect to give you a satisfactory experience with our solutions and to improve our interactions with you. In particular, we use data to:
- Provide our solutions — including configuring, updating, securing and troubleshooting, as well as providing support.
- Improve and develop our products.
- Personalise our products and make recommendations.
- Advertise and market to you — including sending promotional communications, targeting advertising and presenting relevant offers.
- Operate our business — including analysing our performance, meeting our legal obligations, developing our workforce and doing research.
Sharing data with third parties
We share your data with your consent, or as necessary to process and complete any transaction or provide any product or product support you have requested or authorised. For example, we share situation-specific data with our suppliers and technology partners in order to execute the contractual obligations we have entered into with you — such as providing solution licenses, troubleshooting malfunctioning solutions and offering support services.
Security of your data
TalantaHR is committed to protecting the security of your data. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your data from unauthorised access, use or disclosure. For example, we store the personal data you provide on computer systems that have limited access and are kept in controlled facilities. When we transmit data over the internet, we protect it using encrypted channels.
Data storage
In line with the Data Protection Act, 2019, we store all the data we collect and process locally, in Kenya.
How to access and control your personal data
You can make choices about the collection and use of your data by TalantaHR. You can control the data we have obtained and exercise your data-protection rights by contacting us through the communication channels we provide. This control extends to the right to opt out of any advertising activities you are currently subject to as a result of sharing your contact data.
Third-party disclaimer
TalantaHR will not be held liable, whether expressly or impliedly, with regard to any third-party data collection, data processing, data sharing, data storage or data security. Agreements entered into with vendors of a third-party nature will cover the data privacy and security of the data collected, shared and processed within the confines of that agreement.
